Juniper Syrup from Saaremaa – Unique and Authentic!
It all began in 2011 in the cozy home kitchen of Orbu Farm in Leedri village, where Maret, the farm's owner, her daughter Liisi, and Anu, the creator of the idea, started crafting this distinctive syrup.
Saaremaa Juniper Syrup – This is an extract made from Saaremaa junipers and water, with sugar added and boiled into a syrup.
The long-crafted syrup has a subtly resinous flavor typical of juniper, yet remains delicately restrained in taste.
Since 2018, the syrup makers have been operating in Juniper Chamber
where the small wood-burning stove of a home kitchen has been replaced by large boiling vats and a modern production line. This is all to ensure that natural products, featuring the valuable properties of juniper and exciting flavor combinations, reach everyone interested.
Who could have imagined that in a 500-year-old village, resilient Saaremaa women would find a way to craft such intriguing products from the invigorating and health-supporting juniper without harming it? By adding nuts, spices, herbs, fruits, and berries to their syrups, they’ve created a Nordic-inspired product line that delights even the most discerning palates.

Through Saremaa Juniper Syrup
the syrup makers of Juniper Chamber aim to honor the wisdom of their ancestors.
Juniper shoots, used to make the syrup, are hand-picked from the pristine nature of Saaremaa, from windy coastal areas, while respecting and preserving the environment and thinking positive thoughts.
All products are handmade and do not contain any e-substances.
Common juniper (Juniperus communis)
brings marine refreshment to the lungs, summer warmth to the bones, gives strength to a woman's voice and certainty to a man's mind!
Just as the female juniper plant needs the wind to carry pollen from the male plant, humans also need connection with nature. For people on the mainland, it’s not always easy to find opportunities to feel the sharp freshness of juniper on their skin or breathe in the scent of this plant, valued in aromatherapy. The juniper, an evergreen tree that can live up to 2,000 years, is full of strength and vitality, sharing its power with those who cherish the richness of nature.

has properties similar to maple syrup.
Juniper syrups and sauces can be added to savoury and sweet dishes instead of honey, sugar and maple syrup:
- in cold and hot drinks: to flavour juices, yoghurt, kama, smoothies, (iced) coffee, (iced) tea, cocktails.
- in bakery goods: in bread, pastry, biscuit and gingerbread doughs
- as an addition to desserts: porridge, pudding, muesli, pancakes, ice cream
- in savoury warm and cold dishes: to flavour wok dishes, risotto, stews, baked vegetables
- in salad dressings and on the snack table, alongside cheeses
- as a marinade for grilled meat, fish and seafood

The Legend of the Syrup Mistress
Once upon a time, in a small village on Saaremaa, there lived a lovely maiden with rosy cheeks, a lively spirit, and a playful smile. The village boys were quite taken with her, buzzing around her like bees around syrup at every gathering and celebration, but she paid them little mind. Instead, the beautiful maiden focused on her work! Everything she undertook succeeded as if by magic!
Once, on a beautiful starry August night, a young man managed to slyly put his arm around her waist and even steal a kiss! After that, the boy had rosy cheeks and a constant smile for life!
That's why islanders can be compared to junipers: tenacious, vibrant, resilient, and with a healthy glow!
